1991 H AUDI QUATTRO 2.2 221 BHP 20V RR Whether You know the Audi Quattro from the golden age of Group B rallying with such illustrious names as Walter Röhrl, Hannu Mikkola and Stig Blomqvist, or if your exposure came much later, with the likes of DCI Gene Hunt in the BBC's Ashes to Ashes series, we can all agree that there are few cars which really embody the word "iconic" quite like the Audi Quattro. We are delighted to be able to offer this superb example of the 2.2 litre, 20 valve "RR" Quattro model from the final production year of the marque, 1991. This beautiful vehicle is finished in Tornado Red and features the Audi "Four Rings" logo graphics to the bottom of the doors. The external styling is quintessentially 1980's with razor-sharp body lines making for an immediately recognisable silhouette, and this particular model is fitted with white, multi-spoke alloy wheels which suit the car perfectly and give a nod to its rallying pedigree. The inline five-cylinder, turbo-charged engine with a revolutionary (for the time) four valves per cylinder, gave a respectable (even by today's standards) 221 BHP which, when combined with the cars relatively low weight of around 1,300kg and Audi's famous Quattro four-wheel drive system, makes for a nimble, rapid and rightfully highly regarded modern classic. With just two former keepers, this car is complete with a comprehensive and detailed service history comprising of 22 stamps in the service book from esteemed Audi Specialists AM Cars of Somerset, these stamps are accompanied by a folder full of service invoices and bills adding up to around £30,000. At 268,081 miles, the car was fully restored by AM Cars. The restoration comprised of a full engine rebuild, new turbo, new suspension and subrframe components, timing belt, clutch, brake discs, pads and hoses all around and a rebuild of the brake calipers. This list is by no means a full account of all works carried out on this vehicle and we invite any serious and interested parties to inspect this service history as every single nut, bolt, clip, washer, gasket etc has been accounted for with a bill or invoice. Further to the mechanical work, AM Cars also carried out a full strip-down restoration of the bodywork where in all of the glass, interior, dashboard, centre console etc were removed. An invoice of £19,345.41 for this work accompanies the service history. With a recent full service carried out and the replacement of the following parts: three-piece clutch kit, new clutch master cylinder, new brake master cylinder, new Bosch power steering pump and brand new Toyo Proxes tyres fitted all around, recently shot-blasted and poweder-coated alloy wheels, this car is ready to drive away and begin enjoying straight away. Complete with two keys, a Thatcham Cat 1 Alarm system with tracker and proximity warning, the original Audi Main Dealer book pack and even the original sales manager's business card, this is a rare opportunity to acquire such a complete and unmolested example with a fully documented history. The price of these vehicles is soaring, with some examples priced as high as £60,000 on the UK market, the term "appreciating classic" is definitely well used in this case No modifications have been carried out to this vehicle, however the exhaust has been upgraded to a full stainless steel Miltek unit and remains true to the brand as Miltek exhausts are often supplied as options on current generation Audi RS and S models. This exuhaust is not ridiculous but does give a really nice note to the 20v engine
