Ford Sierra Sapphire Cosworth 4x4 It gives us great pleasure to be able to offer you a truly rare opportunity to acquire a fully and faithfully restored example of this modern-classic icon. This Sierra Cosworth was treated to a complete restoration by its previous owner in conjunction with Ford and Cosworth specialists, with the emphasis very much on keeping the car looking original and maintaining the original drive and handling characteristics of the car, something which you will appreciate the moment you see the car in person for the first time. To list absolutely everything which has been done to restore this car would take up much more space than our advertising allows, however it is safe to say that there is not a single area of the car, either mechanically or bodywork wise, which hasn't been replaced, restored or overhauled during the process. An A4 ring binder full of history accompanies the car which, as well as featuring 24 A4 colour photographs taken during the restoration process, also contains all of the bills and invoices for works completed to a total of around £7,500, all of which is in addition to an original stamped service book and service book supplement. Presented in stunning Ebony Black metallic paintwork which manages to look both discrete and understated but at the same time can really gleam and stand out in the sun, this car sits on the sought after 15" Sharktooth alloy wheels which have all been fully refurbished and are fitted with matching Goodyear Eagle winter tyres (spare is Dunlop tyre). The AVO Coil over suspension gives a very slight reduction in ride height from the standard setup but this does make the wheels fit the arches much nicer than the standard ride height. All of the body panels, trim and badging are correct to the original specification of the car, including the slightly extended front and rear bumpers and boot spoiler. In the engine bay we find a completely rebuilt and restored original engine unit which, in addition to its mechanical restoration, has been totally refinished with many parts being repolished or freshly powder coated. Small enhancements include the addition of an alloy radiator, blue Roose silicone hoses, a Collins blow-off valve and Ramair high-flow cone air filter. This theme of total restoration continues underneath the car where all of the subframes and lower arms have been freshly powder coated, brake lines have been replaced with high performance braided units and a full stainless steel exhaust system has been fitted, but again this has been done tastefully and with the original look of the car kept in mind. Inside, the driver and passengers are treated to period-correct Recaro velour seats which are in superb overall condition with nice firm bolsters. The original Ford RDS 2000 and 2040 Radio and CD player are still installed from the factory specification with no aftermarket audio or entertainment components added. All four windows are electrically operated as is the sunroof.

The factory alarm/immobiliser system is also still installed and is in full working order, in fact the only “non-original” parts in the entire interior are the floor mats, which while not original Ford products are fitted nicely and match well to what the original ones would have looked like. The RS steering wheel feels superb in the hands and the small boss (due to lack of airbags) really gives that classic race car feel which is furthered by the “RS” Panel set into the dashboard. This is very much the Sapphire Cosworth you have always promised yourself and is sure to please not just Ford enthusiasts, but car enthusiasts in general. Highly Recommended.
