Toyota Celica GT-Four ST205 JDM Model Continuing our lineup of modern classic, road-going rally cars, we are delighted to present this stunning Toyota Celica GT-Four ST205. Finished in the rarely-seen Storm Blue, this example comes to us fresh from Japan and as such benefits from the increased 252bhp standard output from its turbocharged 3S-GTE engine, rather than the 239bhp unit found in European models. This marvellous powerplant is matched to the sturdy and reliable E154F five-speed manual gearbox and as with all GT-Fours the car features full-time all-wheel drive. Motorsport fans are sure to remember the 90's heyday of the Castrol Liveried GT-Fours piloted by Juha Kankkunen, Didier Auriol and Armin Schwarz blasting sideways around the stages of the World Rally Championship, and the familiar sight of those four round headlamps emerging from the clouds of dust kicked up behind. You may also remember the controversy at the time surrounding Toyota's turbo restrictor technology but as this isn't a feature of the road car we will move swiftly on! As is common with cars from the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) the bodywork and underpinnings of the car are in excellent order and none of the common rust problems found on Euro/UK spec GT-Fours can be found on this example. The sills, doors, wheel arches, windscreen surround, boot floor, underpinnings and exhaust are a world away from what you typically find on cars which have spent their lives on our salty UK roads and while we wouldn't say they were "factory fresh", we are confident that you would struggle to find a Euro/UK example which was even close to being this clean. Externally, the car features all of the refinements and styling cues the ST205 is famous for, the vented bonnet, twin headlamps, WRC-Style boot spoiler, swooping side skirts and corresponding extended bumpers. This example also sits on a set of 17" six-spoke RAYS Alloy wheels finished in gloss white which really pop against the Storm Blue bodywork and give a real WRC look without being over-the-top. Save for a rear wind deflector (which can be removed) the car is free of modifications and even the stainless steel exhaust back-box appears to be an original Toyota unit. So whether you are looking for a clean slate to start building a trackday monster from, or are looking for something to make into more of a concourse vehicle, you will have the perfect starting point either way. Internally, the 2+2 seating arrangement offers excellent space for the driver and front passenger and the cloth-covered sports seats give a great balance between comfort and support. The driving position is fantastic, even for taller drivers, and there are no unnecessarily complicated controls, bells or whistles – this is a car which is very much designed to be driven and the simple, intuitive layout definitely reflects this.

A nice addition to this JDM specification car is the automatic air conditioning, which was standard equipment, but only available as an option in the UK/Euro market. This example also benefits from an upgraded Clarion stereo radio cassette player
